Last week Sunday we get a call from a relative that lives in Chicago. It so happens that my cousin, who happens to be 37 years old, is having a triple bypass surgery. I could not believe it, since most individuals who have this surgery done on them are much older more like in their upper 40's and up. So the surgey was schedualed for 7:00 AM friday morning, being that I have a three day weekend I went along with many of my extended family. Leaving Canton at 10:00PM, we did not reach Chicago till 2:45 AM. Finally went to sleep around three, woke up at 5:30 to eat, due to my fasting, got ready and went to the hospital at 6:00Am. Then went to Friday prayers at 12:30 PM and finally left Chicago at 4:30 PM.
I finally get home around 10:00PM and went to sleep. Aside from all my lack of sleep, I realized that at 37 I could be having that surgery and maybe even worse. I have come to the realization that I must take care of myself now, not later when the damage could already be done. But the surgery went well and he woke up at 5:30 Pm and was in good spirits, he just wanted a Big Mac.

A big mac? Were his problems due to obescity? Or are heart problems hereditary in your family?
ReplyDeleteI hope the surgury went well and he is on his way to a quick recovery though :). Sounds like you had a very busy weekend of not sleeping.
